Everything you need
to know.

Common questions, answered plainly. Anything not covered here gets answered on your consultation at no charge.

A photo ID, Social Security cards for everyone on the return, all income statements (W-2s, 1099s, K-1s), last year's return, and records for anything you plan to deduct — mileage, receipts, mortgage interest, tuition, childcare. If you are self-employed, bring a profit and loss statement or your bank statements. You will receive a checklist built around your situation before your appointment.

Yes. Most clients file entirely online. You upload documents through a secure portal, meet by video or phone, and sign electronically. Services are available in all 50 states.

Yes. We will work out what is owed, get you current, and set a quarterly schedule so next year does not catch you off guard. Missed quarters are common and usually fixable.

Do not ignore it, and do not respond on your own. Send a copy over. Most notices carry a short response window, and the right reply often reduces or removes what has been assessed. Resolution work is handled with affiliate-backed specialists who negotiate with the IRS on your behalf.

Pricing depends on the forms your return requires and whether you need bookkeeping alongside it. You will get a flat quote before any work begins — no hourly surprises. Consultations are free.

A W-2 means an employer withheld tax from your pay throughout the year. A 1099 means you were paid in full and the tax is still owed, usually with self-employment tax on top. 1099 income needs quarterly planning and deduction tracking; W-2 income generally does not.

Yes. That covers your chart of accounts, connected bank feeds, business and personal spending properly separated, and monthly books kept current so nothing has to be reconstructed in April.

Yes. Documents move through an encrypted portal rather than email attachments, and your information is never shared or sold. Confidentiality is a professional obligation, not a policy preference.
